Join the Chamber for a Special Edition of Brewing Up Business!

“Living Authentically,” sponsored by Comcast - featuring guest speaker, retired U.S. Air Force Captain Mark David Gibson, Author of Served in Silence.  

Mark will speak about his memoir Served in Silence as well as LGBT Economic/Business Development strategies from the LGBT Business Builder initiative. We are thrilled that Mark will be joining us for this special event! Mark attended the Chamber's launch in 2016 as part of his role with the Small Business Administration (SBA). He was tapped by SBA Headquarters to coauthor and lead a National LGBT Outreach initiative, alongside the NGLCC. The LGBT Business Builder initiative would be recognized by the White House and become the gold standard for LGBT inclusion in the federal government. Since that time, he has released his memoir Serving in Silence and crossed the country speaking to groups about how to move from a life of shame and secrecy to living an authentic and fulfilling life.  

Captain Mark David Gibson joined the U.S. Air Force as a “ticket out” to find himself and see the world. Gibson is a 20-year, highly decorated, retired, war veteran having deployed multiple times to Southwest Asia in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Noble Eagle. Mark earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree simultaneously while earning a commission in the U.S. Air Force as an Officer. Outside of the military, Mark has worked for major corporations and currently works for the U.S. Small Business Administration. It was here that Mark was able to bring his authentic self and professional expertise that garnered success.
