Kristen is a Professional Counselor and currently serves as a Lead Clinician at Ajana Therapy & Clinical Services in Houston where she provides individual and group therapy. She also provides community and school-based peer support groups through re:MIND\, a non-profit organization. Following a significant career transition a few years back\, (she spent a 5-year-stint in the oil and gas industry before channeling her passions into mental health)\, she has worked in several therapeutic settings including private practice\, psychiatric hospital units\, nonprofits\, and school systems. Kristen has worked with individuals of all ages\, and although she helps with a variety of concerns\, she tends to work well with those struggling with anxiety\, self-worth\, perfectionism\, and identity. As a passionate LGBTQ+ ally\, she also specializes in working with members of the LGBTQ+ community.Providing culturally appropriate and trauma-informed care is extremely important to her\, and Kristen is currently in the process of becoming a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist (CCTS).
