Reliability Engineering Lead

The Reliability Engineering Lead is a key role that will shape Certarus’ predictive maintenance program in conjunction with the Technology team, utilizing data to drive design improvements, maintenance initiatives, and overall enhanced reliability of our equipment platform.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams, and will have the ability to significantly impact Certarus’ future success, capital investments, and customer service experience.


Duties and Responsibilities:

* Develop enhancements for existing equipment reliability programs that includes design, maintenance, and troubleshooting strategies.

* Utilize data analysis tools and techniques to evaluate equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement. 

* Collaborate with the Technology and Engineering teams to develop preventative and predictive maintenance and reliability programs, including diagnostic and machine learning and other digital assessment tools.

* Conduct root cause analysis to identify the underlying causes of equipment failures and develop effective solutions to prevent recurrence.

* Conduct technical audits of equipment to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance, to optimize equipment performance, reliability, and total cost of ownership for existing and new equipment designs.

* Research emerging trends, techniques, methods, and current best practices in Condition and Predictive Maintenance and be willing to be at the forefront and cutting edge of this rapidly growing field.

* Provide input into Certarus Training Programs based on changes to design, operations and maintenance of equipment as related to reliability improvements.

* Work with Maintenance, Engineering and Operations teams to build tools and processes to standardize or simplify day to day work and improve consistency of work.

* Promote a proactive and positive safety culture within Certarus.

* Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or process engineering or a related field.

* 5+ years of experience in the design, troubleshooting, maintenance, and reliability of industrial equipment, including hands-on experience related to the development and implementation of predictive maintenance tools or reliability-centered maintenance programs.

* 2+ years of management or supervisory experience would be an advantage.

* Experience with controls, oil and gas services, piping systems, or compressed gases strongly preferred.

* Track record in driving equipment reliability improvements related to maintenance.

* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze large data sets and draw meaningful conclusions, and experience with Root Cause Analysis, Pareto Analysis, or other methodologies an advantage.

* Knowledge of industry standards and best practices such as API, ASME, and electrical codes.

* Team player with problem solving ability, business acumen, effective time management and organizational skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

* A willingness to learn in real-time and lead the change of Certarus’s maintenance programs.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
