ACTOUT AT THE ALLEY THEATRE

We are proud to partner with our member, the Alley Theatre, to bring the intersection of art + business to our members. As part of our strong partnership with the Alley, the Chamber is a sponsor of ActOUT.  

ActOUT is the hottest LGBTQ theatre event in town! ActOUT is in its eleventh season with a variety of events and productions that will once again have Houston’s LGBTQ community talking. Patrons enjoy fabulous pre-performance mixers with music, socializing, complimentary cocktails and appetizers. The place to see and be seen, ActOUT is sure to be a great night on the town.

Join us on March 19 for the Alley production, 1984, and participate in the ActOUT pre-curtain event. The pre-curtain event starts at 6:00 p.m. and is FREE with your ticket to the performance, which begins at 7:30 p.m.

Based on George Orwell’s futuristic novel, 1984 brings us the story of Winston Smith and a stark vision of a world in which freedom of action, word, and thought are controlled by Big Brother. How far are we from realizing Orwell’s nightmare? Are we already there? Can there be more than one truth, more than one set of facts? As the story of Winston’s fight for individual identity unfolds, the vision grows increasingly terrifying as the world it depicts grows uncomfortably familiar. A ferocious and provocative adaptation of one of the most prescient works of literature of the last century.
