ACTOUT AT THE ALLEY THEATRE

We are proud to partner with our member, the Alley Theatre, to bring the intersection of art + business to our members. As part of our strong partnership with the Alley, the Chamber is a sponsor of ActOUT.  

ActOUT is the hottest LGBTQ theatre event in town!  ActOUT is in its eleventh season with a variety of events and productions that will once again have Houston’s LGBTQ community talking. Patrons enjoy fabulous pre-performance mixers with music, socializing, complimentary cocktails and appetizers. The place to see and be seen, ActOUT is sure to be a great night on the town.

Join us on June 18 for the Alley production, Sense and Sensibility, and participate in the ActOUT pre-curtain event.  The pre-curtain event starts at 6:00 p.m. and is FREE with your ticket to the performance, which begins at 7:30 p.m. 

A playful new adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved novel follows the fortunes (and misfortunes) of the Dashwood sisters—sensible Elinor and sensitive Marianne—after their father’s sudden death leaves them financially destitute and socially vulnerable. Set in gossipy late 18th-century England with a fresh new adaptation, the play is full of humor, emotional depth, and bold theatricality. Sense and Sensibility examine our reactions, both reasonable and ridiculous, to societal pressures. When reputation is everything, how do you follow your heart?
