Brewing Up Business with METRO - Extended Edition

Wednesday, October 9, 2019 (7:30 AM - 9:30 AM) (CDT)

Description

Join us for an extended edition of Brewing Up Business with Chamber Executive Level member, METRO! Thank you to METRO for hosting our October Brewing Up Business.

This month's Brewing Up Business is a great opportunity to not only make some great business connections but also learn about the recent METRONext Moving Forward plan approved by the METRO Board of Directors. The referendum for METRONext will be on the ballot this November for voters to consider $3.5 billion in bonding authority for METRO. The balance of the $7.5 billion plan would be funded through local dollars and federal funding grants. Transportation is a key issue for our members as it impacts businesses and the region. We are thrilled to collaborate with METRO on this informative presentation.

Our special guest speaker will be Sanjay Ramabhadran, METRO Board Member. We'll start Brewing Up Business a little earlier at 7:30 a.m. to have plenty of time for programming and networking.

Sanjay Ramabhadran is a Partner at VERSA Infrastructure providing engineering and program / construction management services on aviation, transportation, and water / wastewater/flood protection projects. He has served in senior executive/board roles at global and regional engineering firms and has 24 years of experience in public infrastructure consulting. He was appointed to the METRO Board of Directors in May of 2015 and currently serves as Chair of the Capital & Strategic Planning Committee and member of the Finance & Audit Committee.

Closing remarks will be shared by Carrin Patman, METRO Board Chair.

Carrin Patman is chair of the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County. She is METRO’s first woman chair, appointed in 2016 by Mayor Sylvester Turner. She previously served on the board from 2010 to 2013. Carrin was a partner of Bracewell where for three decades she worked as a trial lawyer representing diverse clients in major litigation involving commercial disputes, securities matters, antitrust and competition issues, and regulatory compliance. She was the first woman elected to the firm’s seven-member Management Committee. Carrin retired from Bracewell in 2016. Carrin graduated from Duke University (with honors) and from the University of Texas School of Law (Texas Law Review).

Don't forget those business cards! It's going to be a great Brewing Up Business and a terrific way to connect with other Chamber members and guests. There will be tons of networking and an overall fantastic morning to make some great connections.

We expect a very high turnout for this event so register today. We look forward to seeing you!
