Join the Greater Houston LGBT Chamber and the Houston Rockets for a virtual event focused on LGBTQ+ Inclusion: Sports + Workplace. Hear from panelists from the LGBTQ+ community about their experiences of working in the sports industry.
Hear from a group of panelists about their individual journeys working for professional sports teams throughout their careers including the challenges they have faced and the importance of bringing their full and authentic selves to the workplace. The panelists will share their unique stories and insight about LGBTQ inclusion in sports and in the workplace.

The panel will be moderated by Joey Guerra, Music Critic / Writer with the Houston Chronicle.
The virtual event will be open for virtual networking starting at 11:30 a.m. The program will start at noon.
About Our Moderator and Panelists
Clay Allen is the Associate General Counsel for the Houston Rockets and Toyota Center, a position he has held since 2013. Clay began his career with the Rockets as a part-time Marketing Associate in 2001, working his way up within the organization until leaving the Rockets in 2007 to attend law school and pursue a legal career. Clay is an advisor to the Board of HomeField Alliance, the first nationwide affinity group for LGBTQ+ sports professionals, and serves on several committees for Lone Star Volleyball Association, the local chapter of the North American Gay Volleyball Association.
Simone DiSalvo joined REFUGE Marketing & Consulting in 2017, bringing with her a strong background in business development, customer service and marketing crafted through the various positions she previously held in Major League Soccer and National Women’s Soccer League professional franchises. She thrives on creating bespoke solutions to help small businesses achieve their goals.
Giovanni Rosselli has enjoyed an evolving career at the University of Houston (UH), wearing multiple hats over nearly eight years. Prior to being appointed Director of Alumni Relations for the Bauer College of Business, Giovanni raised funding for UH during its historic $1B capital campaign. Prior to working in higher education, Giovanni worked in professional sports for the NBA's Houston Rockets followed by the San Antonio Spurs, focusing on corporate sponsorship, ticket sales, and season ticket account management.
Joey Guerra is the music critic for the Houston Chronicle. He also covers various aspects of pop culture. He has reviewed hundreds of concerts and interviewed hundreds of celebrities, from Justin Bieber to Dolly Parton to Beyonce. He’s appeared as a regular correspondent on Fox26 and was head judge and director of the Pride Superstar singing competition for a decade. He has been named journalist of the year multiple times by both OutSmart Magazine and the FACE Awards. He also covers various aspects of pop culture, including the local drag scene and "RuPaul's Drag Race."
