DAY OF SERVICE WITH THE BUFFALO BAYOU PARTNERSHIP

The Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce is excited to join our Day of Service with the Buffalo Bayou Partnership. We have a few extra volunteer slots available and invite you to join us on April 13th as we give back to our local community!
Buffalo Bayou Partnership, a new Chamber member, is the non-profit organization leading the planning, design, activation, and stewardship of inspiring spaces along the 10-mile stretch of Buffalo Bayou from Shepherd Drive through downtown and eastward to the Port of Houston Turning Basin.
So, wear your rainbow and Pride gear and join the Chamber as we give back to Houston and help clean up Buffalo Bayou and surrounding park spaces. Volunteer projects generally include protecting plants, conservation, park maintenance, or trash and debris removal.
The Day of Service will be an excellent opportunity for our Impact Partners to show our community what ways we can come together to make a positive impact in the greater Houston region.
Online registration closes at 10am on Thursday, April 11th.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- We encourage you to wear pride gear but also keep in mind that long sleeve shirts and pants are encouraged, if not required for some projects. Be sure whatever you wear, you are prepared it could get dirty. Hats or bandanas are also encouraged.
- Closed-toe shoes or boots are required. Disposable gloves will be provided.
- The Chamber will provide water, snacks, insect repellant, & sunscreen.
- Volunteers might want to bring additional water, snacks, or medicine they may require.
- After registration, volunteers will be asked to complete the Volunteer Waiver for the Buffalo Bayou Partnership.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This event is free and open to any members of the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce. We will be joining members of the Chamber’s LGBTQ+ Workplace Alliance which has some additional volunteer slots available - the more the merrier - to give back to our community.
Volunteers should be 18+ (please contact us in advance if you would like to bring children).
