Join us for the next quarterly chapter meeting of Houston Business Action to End HIV, where business leaders (whether large or small businesses) and community partners will come together in person to discuss key priorities to address and end the local HIV epidemic in Houston. Lunch will be provided!
In September, we are looking to identify which areas of impact matter most to each company or organization and to explore opportunities for connection, collaboration, and local action. During the upcoming local chapter meeting, we’ll break into working groups focused on specific areas of impact to help move those efforts forward.
Breakout groups will focus on four key areas:
- Employee education & workplace inclusion
- HIV testing & prevention
- State and local advocacy
- Community partnerships, funding, or volunteerism
Sign up for one of these areas of interest when you RSVP!
Online registration closes at noon on Friday, September 26th.
Who should attend?
This event is complimentary and open to all members and partners of U.S. Business Action to End HIV and to any employee or representative from any company or nonprofit organization in the greater Houston region that is interested in learning more. Your company does not have to be a current member of the U.S. Business Action to End HIV in order to participate in these meetings.
B/ERG groups are powerful networks within businesses that can increase HIV visibility, fight stigma in the workplace, and help educate colleagues about ways to protect themselves and make their workplaces more responsive to the local HIV epidemic. Learn more on the Chamber’s blog: “Fighting HIV Stigma Starts in the Workplace — How B/ERG Groups Can Lead the Way.”
About the Houston Business Action to End HIV
U.S. Business Action to End HIV, an initiative of the Health Action Alliance, has established a coalition in Houston to engage the private sector in responding to the unique needs of the local epidemic. The Houston Chapter is locally managed by the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce.
Today, in Houston and across the U.S. and the globe, HIV continues to impact the health and lives of people more than 4 decades after the start of this pandemic. We believe a coalition of companies working together can change the trajectory of HIV in the U.S. by leveraging their resources and influence.
Join us and learn more about the actions your company can take to improve employee health, reduce long-term healthcare costs, minimize work disruptions, and increase trust between employers, employees, and customers.
