LAKE JACKSON — Brazoria County Pride is gearing up to host its first Project Love Gala, and not a single ticket remains available as the organization promoting acceptance sold out the house.

The gala promises to be a night of celebration, unity and progress for the LGBTQ+ community and allies, incoming Brazoria County Pride President Timothy Wayne said.

“This event is about leading with love,” he said. “In a world where judgment often comes too quickly, we’re choosing to create a space where everyone feels they belong.”

The gala will feature a red carpet entrance, a historical display chronicling the journey of Brazoria County Pride and a VIP lounge with a custom neon sign inspired by a note from Dolly Parton: “Don’t surrender ’til you find your rainbow!”

A keynote panel will headline the evening, featuring Wayne, Tammi Wallace of the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce and Dr. Joy Kennedy O’Neill, a Brazosport College professor and advocate for LGBTQ+ youth. Dr. Jessica Truscott, former president of Brazoria County Pride, will moderate the discussion.
