Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce forced to find new location for Annual THRIVE Conference due to national DEI Executive Order

While the event was initially slated to take place at the Federal Reserve Bank on Allen Parkway, the Chamber received an email late evening on Monday, January 27, 2025, that, due to President Trump’s recent executive order ending DEI programs, the event could no longer be held there.

WHO: Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce

WHAT: Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce is holding its second annual THRIVE Small Business Summit & Matchmaker this Thursday, January 30, 2025. 100+ small business owners, supplier diversity professionals, LGBTQ+ employee resource groups and small business support organizations will be in attendance.

While the event was initially slated to take place at the Federal Reserve Bank on Allen Parkway, the Chamber received an email late evening on Monday, January 27, 2025, that, due to President Trump’s recent executive order ending DEI programs, the event could no longer be held there.

In an exceptional act of generosity and flexibility, on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 1:45 p.m. (just under 30 hours from the event’s start time), the Chamber’s longtime partner, Hilton Garden Inn / Home 2 Suites Medical Center on Almeda Road, agreed to host the event.
