HOUSTON (KIAH) — A Houstonian who is in Isreal for a LGBTQ Pride Month event had to shelter in her hotel’s parking garage as missiles hit the area as the conflict between Iran and Isreal continues.

Tammi Wallace, the co-founder, president and CEO of the Greater Houston LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce, is safe after traveling to Tel Aviv, Isreal, as rockets pound the city the last few days.

In a Zoom interview from her hotel, Wallace said that she is safe after many rounds of Iranian missiles hit the area over the weekend.

Wallace was invited to Tel Aviv by Livia Link-Raviv, the Consul General of Israel for Houston and the Southwest U.S.  Wallace is a delegate with the North American LGBTQ+ Pride 2025 delegation, organized by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She was to participate in the Tel Aviv Pride Parade, which is now canceled.
