Texas LGBTQ Chambers plan advocacy day at state Capitol
“This is our opportunity to show up, speak out, and make an impact as we meet with lawmakers, share our stories and ensure that the voices of LGBTQ+ businesses, talent and families are heard loud and clear,” organizers said.
Texas LGBTQ Chambers of Commerce — which includes North Texas LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce, The Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce and the San Antonio LGBT Chamber of Commerce are invited LGBTQ business owners and allies from across the state to attend the Texas LGBTQ Chambers of Commerce Day at Texas state Capitol in Austin on March 24-25.
The event starts on Monday, March 24, with a welcome reception from 5-7 p.m. at the law firm of Latham and Watkins, LLP, 300 Colorado St., Ste. 2400, in Austin. Then participants gather on Tuesday, March 25, to spend the day at the state Capitol, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., advocating for “policies that strengthen the LGBTQ+ business community and champion an inclusive economy that benefits all Texans,” according to a press release announcing the event.
