The Show Your Pride campaign is capturing community & pride through photography
Show Your Pride is aimed at capturing the essence of LGBTQ+ pride through empowering & visually captivating pictures.
The Show Your Pride campaign highlights the beauty of diversity, breaks down stereotypes and contributes to a world where everyone can openly and proudly express their authentic selves. Through photography the campaign captures the strength, joy and courage inherent in embracing one's true self or in their support of the LGBTQ+ community.
Highlighted with the photos are each person's three powerful words in response to "What Pride Means to Me."
The campaign is a collaborative project between the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce and talented photographer Chandrayee Soneja with Chamber Member Soneja Creative. Collaboration partners include Ike Smart City, Like Minds Communications and Houston City Council Member Abbie Kamin.
The Pride backdrop was designed and created by Soneja. Each year the campaign utilizes a different Pride backdrop to capture beautiful photos as part of the campaign.
The photo shoots are listed on the Show Your Pride website, ShowYourPride.lgbt. They are hosting open studio photo shoots as well as at various Chamber events. Anyone that wants to participate just needs to register and reserve their spot. There is no charge but there is a suggested donation of $25 that goes to the Chamber to offset the costs of the campaign.
