What is the Greater Houston LGBT Chamber of Commerce?
The Chamber is the leading voice for the LGBTQ+ and Allied Business Community in the Greater Houston region.
Mission: The Greater Houston LGBT Chamber of Commerce accelerates economic opportunity for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer + business community through a strong network of business allies, innovative programs, strategic partnerships and advance policies that foster economic inclusion and equality.
The Chamber launched in 2016 to ensure representation for the LGBTQ+ Business Community. The organization was founded by Co-Founders Tammi Wallace and Gary Wood. The Chamber is supported by members and Corporate Partners that invest in the mission of the organization.

Chamber Recognized as Favorite Local LGBTQ Community Organization
Chamber recognized as the Favorite Local LGBTQ Community Organization in the 2020 OutSmart Magazine Readers’ Choice Awards.
HOUSTON, TX (October 1, 2020) – The Chamber is deeply honored to be recognized as the Favorite Local LGBTQ Community Organization in the 2020 OutSmart Magazine Readers’ Choice Awards.
The OutSmart Magazine Readers’ Choice Awards online voting is held annually to recognize organizations and individuals in the LGBTQ+ community in categories ranging from business, community, people, philanthropy and beyond.
“This community recognition is incredibly special as the Chamber approaches our milestone five-year anniversary. We appreciate the support from the readers of OutSmart Magazine and the acknowledgement of our important work focused on economic inclusion for the LGBTQ+ community, both from a business perspective and as a whole,” said Tammi Wallace, Co-Founder and President & CEO. “The Chamber is proud to be a leading voice for the LGBTQ+ Business Community in the greater Houston region as well as working statewide in collaboration with the Texas LGBTQ Chambers of Commerce.”
The Greater Houston LGBT Chamber promotes economic empowerment and equity for LGBTQ business owners and entrepreneurs. The overarching work of the Chamber is focused on economic empowerment for LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs. Our work focuses on supporting and growing a thriving LGBTQ+ and Allied Business Community to create economic opportunities for the LGBTQ+ community.
The Chamber’s important work will continue until the LGBTQ+ community has the equality of opportunity to participate in, contribute to, and benefit from economic opportunities and fully be part of and recognized as part of the economic development ecosystem at all levels of society.
