Greater Houston LGBT Chamber Celebrates LGBTQ+ Business Community and Recognizes 2022 Pride In Business Honorees



“The Pride In Business Award Honorees this year are a remarkable group of individuals and organizations.”

HOUSTON, TX (June 23, 2022) – The Greater Houston LGBT Chamber of Commerce held its signature event, Pride In Business, on June 22, 2022 at the Downtown Aquarium, a Chamber Corporate Partner. During the luncheon event, the Pride In Business Award Honorees were announced.

The event takes place annually during Pride Month and is a unique occasion to celebrate LGBTQ+ and Allied businesses in the Greater Houston area with a focus on LGBTQ+ economic inclusion. The Pride In Business Awards illustrate the collaborative nature of the LGBTQ+ and Allied Business Community in advancing a better Houston.

The Pride In Business event was emceed by Melanie Lawson, Anchor, with ABC13. The event included special guests:

  • Minister Mike Freer, UK, Minister for Exports and Minister for Equalities
  • Reggie Greer, Senior Advisor to the U.S. Special Envoy to Advance the Human Rights of LGBTQI+ Persons, U.S. Department of State
  • UK LGBTQ+ Trade Mission Delegation

During the event eleven individuals and organizations were recognized as the 2022 Pride In Business Award Honorees. The Pride In Business Awards recognize the contributions made by Chamber members, Corporate Partners and other key stakeholders in building a more diverse and inclusive business community in Houston and the region. The awards spotlight deserving companies and individuals and showcase the amazing work they are doing to support the LGBTQ+ community.

Corporate LGBTQ+ Ally of the Year: Gretchen Sheirr, President of Business Operations, Houston Rockets

Allied Business of the Year: Sesh Coworking

Nonprofit Member of the Year: Legacy Community Health

Supplier Diversity Advocate of the Year: David Feldman, Supply Chain Advisor – Supplier Diversity, Corporate Procurement, Chevron Services Company

LGBTQ+ Business of the Year: Hawthorne Capital

Employee Resource Group of the Year: The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center LGBT Network

Chamber Champion Award: Tim Jeffcoat, Houston District Director, U.S. Small Business Administration

Community Legacy Award: Dalton DeHart
