Greater Houston LGBT Chamber of Commerce Partners with KHOU 11 to Celebrate Pride Month and the Pride In Business Celebration & Awards
“KHOU 11 is excited to collaborate with the Greater Houston LGBT Chamber of Commerce to help share the important stories of the LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs...”
HOUSTON, TX (May 3, 2023) – The Greater Houston LGBT Chamber of Commerce will host its signature event, Pride In Business, on June 23, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Downtown. The Chamber is proud to announce KHOU 11 as the Media Partner for this special Pride Month event.
This event takes place annually during Pride Month and is a unique occasion to celebrate LGBTQ+ and Allied businesses in the Greater Houston area with a focus on LGBTQ+ economic inclusion.
This is the first year the Chamber is partnering with KHOU 11. Cheryl Mercedes, Reporter & Anchor with KHOU 11, will emcee the Pride In Business event.
“We are proud to partner with KHOU 11 this year on the Pride In Business celebration and Pride Month and appreciate the support of the KHOU 11 team,” said Tammi Wallace, Chamber Co-Founder, President & CEO. “The station is committed to supporting the LGBTQ+ community by being actively engaged, telling the important stories of the LGBTQ community and being a strong partner with the Chamber during Pride Month and beyond.”
"KHOU11 has a long history of supporting local entrepreneurs and businesses," said Robert Springer, KHOU 11 President & General Manager. "In many cases, our team has a unique, “front-row seat” to the determination and vision, the obstacles and sacrifices, and ultimately the strengths and smarts that it takes to operate a successful business of any size. It’s both inspiring and humbling. In that spirit, KHOU11 is excited to collaborate with the Greater Houston LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce to help share the important stories of LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs, to promote an inclusive marketplace and to recognize the growing economic contributions of the LGBTQ+ community to the growth and prosperity of the region."
As part of the partnership, KHOU 11 will share the powerful stories of the 11 2023 Pride In Business Award Honorees during Pride Month. Through KHOU 11’s Pride Month coverage, the station will raise the visibility of the Pride in Business event with the goal to highlight the LGBTQ+ business community and especially LGBTQ+ owned small businesses. The Pride In Business Awards recognize the contributions made by Chamber members, Corporate Partners and other key stakeholders in building a more diverse and inclusive business community in Houston and the region.
The Pride In Business Celebration is the only event in Houston focused on the LGBTQ+ business community during Pride Month.
