Texas LGBTQ Chambers of Commerce to Host Day at the Capitol, Advocating for an Inclusive Economy, Stronger Texas.

On March 25, 2025, the Texas LGBTQ Chambers of Commerce will convene business leaders, professionals, and allies at the Texas State Capitol for the 89th Texas Legislative Session.

Austin, TX – On March 25, 2025, the Texas LGBTQ Chambers of Commerce will convene business leaders, professionals, and allies at the Texas State Capitol for the 89th Texas Legislative Session. Under this year’s theme, "Inclusive Economy, Stronger Texas," the event will bring together members of the Austin, Greater Houston, North Texas, and San Antonio LGBTQ Chambers of Commerce to advocate for policies that promote economic growth, eliminate barriers to success, and foster an inclusive business environment for all Texans.

"The Day at the Capitol is a powerful demonstration of the LGBTQ+ community’s economic impact and a call for inclusive policies," said Tammi Wallace, Co-Founder, President & CEO, Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce.  "We’re here to ensure that Texas leaders recognize the vital role our businesses and our community play in driving innovation, job creation, and economic growth across the state."

"The Day at the Capitol is about ensuring our voices are heard. When we come together from across the state, we amplify the impact of LGBTQ+-owned businesses and our community’s contributions are recognized. Our presence matters. " – Tony Vedda, President & CEO, North Texas LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce.

With 205 anti-LGBTQIA+ bills filed in the Texas Legislature—the highest number ever recorded—the need for advocacy has never been more urgent. The Texas LGBTQ Chambers of Commerce, representing nearly 2,000 LGBTQ+ and allied businesses, are committed to ensuring that all businesses have a voice in shaping policies that impact economic development, job creation, and opportunity across the state.

“Texas has a long and storied history of being open for business. Even in the face of recessionary concerns at the federal level, our commitment to fostering a positive environment for business growth and attracting the best talent in the world remains unwavering. That’s the secret sauce that makes Texas such a great place to live, work, and play. Now is a time to be open to all and not close the door on business.'- Tina Cannon, CEO Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce.

"LGBTQ+ business owners are innovators, job creators, and vital contributors to the Texas economy.” Said Luis Vazquez, Executive Director of the San Antonio LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce. “An inclusive economy isn't just about fairness—it’s about strengthening our state by ensuring every business has the opportunity to succeed."

During the event, attendees will meet directly with elected officials to share their stories and advocate for legislation that upholds workplace inclusion, opposes discrimination, and creates a fair and competitive business climate in Texas. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in discussions on the economic contributions of LGBTQ+ businesses and the importance of maintaining Texas’s reputation as a welcoming place for business, talent, and investment.

The Day at the Capitol serves as a vital platform for the Texas LGBTQ Chambers of Commerce to strengthen relationships with policymakers and ensure that Texas remains a state where all businesses—regardless of identity—can succeed, grow, and thrive.

The Texas LGBTQ+ Chambers of Commerce encourage business owners, professionals, and allies to participate in this significant day of advocacy.
