Trans Texans belong.

Deception and impersonation have no place in our community.

CHAMBER STATEMENT
October 23, 2026

Trans Texans belong.
Deception and impersonation have no place in our community.

The Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce stands with the Transgender Education Network of Texas (TENT), which has reported that mailers, brochures, and text messages are being distributed using its name or similar branding without authorization. TENT has confirmed that it did not create, approve, or distribute these materials.

We urge our members and community to verify information through TENT’s official channels before sharing or responding. Help amplify TENT’s statement so others can recognize these impersonations.

Our transgender neighbors are business owners, colleagues, community leaders, friends, and family. They deserve safety, dignity, and the freedom to thrive. Efforts that undermine trust in organizations serving trans Texans affect our entire community ecosystem.

We stand together for the safety, dignity, and belonging of transgender Texans—and the right to live, work, lead, and thrive here in Texas.
