SPEND WITH PURPOSE

Support LGBTQ+ Inclusive Businesses and Organizations Through the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce Member Directory

Choosing where you spend your money is powerful. By using the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce Member Directory, you can directly support businesses and organizations that are not only inclusive but also actively advocate for and uplift the LGBTQ+ community.

At the Chamber, we refer to this as "intentional spending" or "spending with purpose" when you intentionally choose to spend your dollars with businesses and organizations that share your values of diversity, equity, and inclusion and support the LGBTQ+ community.

Plus, spending dollars with LGBTQ+ supportive businesses and organizations means you are helping to drive economic opportunity for the LGBTQ+ and Allied community in the region.

About

In March 2019, I opened my practice in Sugar Land to serve the greater Houston area. With support of the community where I grew up, I established a successful and dedicated practice to helping everyday Texans with employment, estate planning, and probate issues.

Employment & Litigation Experience:
In my over half-decade of experience in representing workers, I have litigated against many Fortune 500 companies such as Wal-Mart, Marriott, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, and Fluor Enterprises (formerly Fluor Daniel) and governmental entities such as subdivisions of the State of Texas and the Federal Government.

Probate: In my probate practice, I have had the honor of representing Bank of America as executor in multiple probate matters. Of course, I have also represented individuals in probate matters small and large in and around the greater Houston metro area and South East Texas, including Fort Bend, Harris, Brazoria, and Jefferson Counties.

Estate Planning: In estate planning, I have represented individuals, couples, couples with children, and clients with special needs children in their estate planning matters. Among others, I have drafted powers of attorney, medical powers of attorney, living wills, trusts, and last Wills and testaments for clients. In my representation of estate planning clients, I work with the clients to understand their goals. I explain the documents, their effects, and help devise a strategy that will accomplish that goal.

Education & Background: I graduated from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law with honors, cum laude. I earned my B.A. in International Studies from Texas A&M University, graduating summa cum laude. While at Texas A&M, I studied abroad in Salzburg, Austria where I perfected my German. During and after law school, I taught myself Spanish.

Continuing my education, I received the Dean's Scholarship and attended the Southern Methodist University - Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Texas. There, I studied employment law, employment discrimination, and estate planning among other subjects. While in law school, I made the dean's list and graduated with honors, cum laude.

Community Involvement: I remain active in the Houston Area Young Lawyer’s Association and the Houston Area Young Lawyers Foundation. I served as the Chair of the Solo and Small Firm Committee for the 2020-21 bar year and the Chair of the Spanish Committee, helping fellow lawyers learn Spanish to better serve their clients and the community. I also am involved in the Houston Bar Association’s LGBTQ+ Bar Section. I enjoy practicing my Spanish and German. And, I continue to push myself towards conversational French.
