Chris Canetti is President of the Houston 2026 World Cup Host Committee, where he is leading the city's efforts to deliver one of the most globally significant sporting events—the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Under his leadership, Houston successfully secured its place as a host city.

Chris brings more than 25 years of experience in professional sports, including 13 years with the Houston Dynamo, where he served as Club President. His leadership has earned him recognition on Sports Illustrated’s list of the “Top 50 Most Powerful People in U.S. Soccer”.

With the FIFA World Cup™ coming to Houston in 2026, Chris will share an insider’s perspective on what it means for our city—from economic development and global visibility to community engagement and opportunities for local businesses. 

Learn how Houston is preparing to take the world stage and how events like the World Cup can drive positive impact across diverse communities, including the LGBTQ+ community.
