We'll Welcome Our New and Returning City Council Members

The New Year brought new faces to Houston City Hall. We are excited to welcome to the 3rd Thursday Breakfast some of the new and returning City Council members as they begin their 2024 term. Their attendance represents a unique opportunity for Chamber Members to meet and interact with local elected officials who shape public policy that affects LGBTQ+ businesses and employees. 

Among the Council Members joining us are:

• Martha Castex-Tatum, Mayor Pro Tem and Council Member, District K
• Sallie Alcorn, Council Member, At-Large 5
• Mario Castillo, Council Member, District H
• Mary Nan Huffman, Council Member, District G
• Joaquin Martinez, Council Member, District I
• Tiffany Thomas, Council Member, District F

The Chamber will honor former Council Member Robert Gallegos with an award to acknowledge his ten years of service on Houston City Council and his advocacy on behalf of the LGBTQ+ community.  Please join us to help show our appreciation for his dedication to public service and our great city.

We'll Present a Check to Tony's Place

The Chamber will present Tony's Place with a check for proceeds from the Chamber Holiday Food & Supply Drive hosted this past December.  Tony's Place was the beneficiary for the Drive.  Through the generous donation of food, supplies and funds, the Drive has made a spectacular success for the organization and LGBTQ+ homeless youth.
