Featured Speaker

Yuhayna Mahmud, Planning Program Manager II, with Chamber Member METRO, will join us this month as our Featured Speaker to talk about the latest updates with transit plans that affect our region.

Hear about METRO’s newest project from METRONext which was approved by Houston voters, which is the University Bus Rapid Transit Project. It will be the largest project of its kind in the country.

Yuhayna Mahmud, AICP, has 20 years of planning experience in the fields of transit, parks, regulatory planning, affordable housing, policy and bicycle and pedestrian planning. She emphasizes coordination between agencies and partnerships across the region and encourages a multi-disciplinary collaborative approach for projects from planning to implementation. As a Principal Program Manager for Houston METRO in the last 7 years, she has worked on a variety of projects including transit center redesigns, bus corridor studies, development of transit design standards, first-last mile plans, bus rapid transit planning and design, and transit facility projects to improve bicycle and pedestrian connectivity and access.
